The Tánaiste is being asked to allow Laois to exit localised restrictions ahead of Offaly and Kildare.
CEO of Laois Chamber of Commerce Bernie Everard made the request during a conference call with Leo Varadkar and Minister of State for Enterprise, Longford/Westmeath TD Robert Troy.
Since Friday's announcement, Laois has recorded 14 new cases, compared to 32 in Offaly and 146 in Kildare.
Ms. Everard says for the moment, it's up to the local community to help struggling businesses:
