Tanaiste To Address RACO Conference

The two day conference for commissioned officers starts in Meath today.

Tanaiste and Defence Minister Simon Harris will address low paid army cadets at today's RACO conference in County Meath.

The commissioned officers association is using the two day event to highlight how wages are a significant barrier to boosting army numbers.

It says cadets get paid €493 a week meaning many of their representatives are making less than minimum wage.

RACO General Secretary from Athlone, Lieutenant Colonel Conor King says they'll make their feelings known to Simon Harris later:
