A student member of the party has resigned as a result.
The Taoiseach has described Sinn Féin's handling of tweets critical of TD Brian Stanley as 'heavy handed'.
It's after a member resigned from Sinn Féin when a party member called to her house suggesting she delete tweets that criticised the Deputy.
The party member lived on the same road - but Sinn Féin has since apologised to Christine O'Mahony.
Taoiseach Micheál Martin has criticised the party's handling of the complaint:
APOLOGY: The tweets were critical of Laois-Offaly deputy Brian Stanley.
