A teenager has died following a road crash in Carlow town overnight.
Shortly after 8:30pm, Gardaí and emergency services responded to reports that two teenagers had fallen from an e-scooter in Carlow town.
The single-vehicle collision happened at around 9pm, on Carpenters Way - between Éire Óg GAA Club and Paupish Bridge.
He was transported to St Luke’s Hospital before being transferred to Beaumont Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
A 17-year-old boy was taken to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin where he later died.
The second occupant, an 18-year-old, was medically assessed at the scene but did not require immediate hospital treatment.
The scene has been preserved for a technical examination which will take place this morning, and diversions are in place.
