New research is revealing the Moon is drifting away from the Earth at a rate of 1 and a half inches per year.
The study from the University of Wisconsin Madison also reveals that we could have an extra hour in the day about 200 million years from now.
Scientists have been examining rock formations on the moon's surface from over a billion years ago, which shows the Earth is also spinning at a much slower rate.
