In most places in Ireland, Nollaig na mBan is a recent invention, and not the "fadó fadó" historic convention many people believe it is.
That's according to artist and folklorist Micheal Fortune, who believes the history of Little Christmas has been distorted in recent decades.
Nollaig na mBan has been long celebrated in places like Cork and Kerry, but is only a recent development elsewhere.
