The worst hit areas are in County Offaly
Nearly 6,000 homes and businesses across the midlands are without power this morning because of Storm Ciara.
The worst hit area is Edenderry, with nearly 2,500 outages in two seperate faults.
Also in Offaly, 1,300 customers are impacted in Birr, 1,000 in Ballinagar and 26 in Clara.
There are 1,000 powerless connections in the wider Castlepollard area and 120 in Balliinderry.
Sports fixtures are also falling victim to the weather, including Laois V Cavan, Offaly V Louth, all games in National Camogie, CCFL and Leinster club rugby, however this afternoon's clash between Westmeath and Fermanagh is still going ahead.
