Tillage Farmers Demand Support Ahead Of Budget 2027

A crisis meeting was held in the Killashee Hotel in Kildare.

The tillage sector is facing a significant challenge that cannot wait until Budget 2027 to be sorted.

That's the message from the IFA to the Agriculture Minister as around 1,000 farmers attended a crisis meeting in Kildare's Killashee Hotel, which they say is one of their largest gatherings in years.

The body's grain committee is proposing €100 an acre for every tillage crop grown nationally.
