The infrastructural project between Pearse Street and Blackhall included work on intelligent traffic light systems, public lighting, planting, seating and street furniture.
The District Manager believes the development will reduce car dominance in the town and will make it more welcoming to pedestrian.

It comes after a construction workers had to come to the assistance of an artic lorry driver who got stuck due to road works in the town.
Pat Keating says sometimes from time to time construction road works can cause a temporary immediate issue.
He says once the road is completed by the end of September there should be no problems:
