The Green Party leader says the government is looking at new ways of implementing the scheme.

The Transport Minister admits an electric vehicle public charger scheme hasn't worked.

None of the local authorities in the midlands signed up to the Public Charge Point Scheme, which allocated grants of up to 5,000 euro to county councils to install EV chargers.

The lack of uptake by local authorities in the region has been labelled as disappointing in the past, given new legislation which will see the sale of carbon-emitting vehicles phased out by 2035.
