He's being described as a ''top man".
Tributes are being paid to a Laois musician who passed away yesterday.
Alan Ryan played with local band The Jury and is survived by his wife and two kids.
He is being described as a ''top man and a good friend'' in some online tributes.
He will be laid to rest in SS Peter and Paul's cemetery tomorrow afternoon.
In a Facebook post, Kavanagh's Pub in Portlaoise says "we got the sad the news this morning about Alan Ryan. A top, top man, a good friend and a fella who's played more often on our stages that I think his drum kit might be stuck here somewhere! Alan will be missed by us all, whether it was a gig he was playing or attending, in for a pint with his friends, out after the annual Christmas Beladd V Summerhill football match or running his and Kate's summer business / computer school for kids upstairs. We've lost a real good one. Our thoughts in particular are with his wife Kate, their children Tom & Lucy, his parents, family and friends. Ar dheis de go raibh a anam dilis".
