Gardaí made the seizure following a search of a house in Laois.
Two men have been arrested following a drug seizure in the Midlands.
€1,700 worth of heroin was found following a search of a house in Portlaoise, by the Laois/Offaly Divisional Drugs unit and uniformed members of Portlaoise Garda Station.
The men have been released and a file has been sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Gardaí say they will not let up on the people that want to peddle death and misery on communities but they cannot do it without the help of the public.
