Two men aged in their 20s and 30s were detained in Portlaoise Garda Station

Gardaí in Laois have made two further arrests in an ongoing money laundering investigation.

Two men aged in their 20s and 30s were detained in Portlaoise Garda Station following operations in Louth and North Dublin yesterday.

Both have since been released without charge and files are being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The arrests come five months after €50,000 in cash was found in a car by gardaí on the M7 near Portlaoise.

Two women were detained at the time of the seizure, but were subsequently released without charge.
