Two Students from the Midlands are bidding to become the 72nd Miss Ireland this weekend.

24 year old Margaret Bolton from Geashill will represent Westmeath - with 20 year old Michelle Murphy from Clonaslee flying the flag for Laois. 

33 girls in total from across the country are taking part in the event tomorrow - with the winner representing Ireland at the global final in London. 

Rosanna Davidson is the most famous winner of the Irish leg of the global competition in 2003.
