A wastewater treatment plant serving the Midlands is set for a major upgrade.
Uisce Éireann is launching a public consulation for the Mortarstown Wastewater Treatment Plant, which serves Graiguecullen, Killeshin, and Carlow Town.
This consultation is planned as part of a plan to increase the plant's capacity from serving 36,000 to 58,000 customers.
It also involves upgrading the treatment process and constructing a new wastewater pumping station next to the existing site, linked through a new sewer tunnel.
Members of the public are invited to provide feedback online on the works before the official submission of planning permission to An Coimisiún Pleanála.
A public information evening will also be held on Thursday October 9th in the Seven Oaks Hotel in Carlow between 4 and 8 o'clock in the evening.
The deadline for submissions is Sunday October 19th.
