Homes and businesses around Mullingar were hit with a long running conservation order this year.
Uisce Eireann says its doing everything it can to fortify a Westmeath water supply.
It comes after a long running conservation order was put in place for the Mullingar Regional Water Supply in May.
That hosepipe ban was only lifted last month after Lough Owell was hit with historically low water levels.
Works include water main replacements alongside a new metering programme which will boost active detection and repair efforts in the future.
