Laois Offaly Sinn Féin TD, Brian Stanley, is calling on Minister Eamon Ryan to take action to fix the problems.
In the Birr Driving Centre, the current waiting time is 24 weeks, while in Portlaoise is at 25 weeks. these are double the times compared to Ballina and Shannon.
Mullingar and Athlone are slightly shorter at 19 and 18 weeks respectively.
Tullamore has the shortest waitiing time in the region at 14 weeks.
