Sinn Feín has obtained figures that show 1.8% of Westmeath's total stock of social housing of 2,300 are vacant.
The figure is 1.2% in Laois , while Offaly County Council is yet to provide their figures.
Sinn Fein rep Sorca Clarke is pointing the finger of blame at the government, saying they have nothing to offer but "excuses and broken promises" on the situation.
