Warnings Of "Serious Shortage" Of Creche Places In Laois Town

There are fears of further over-crowding with new houses being built in the area.

There are warnings of a "serious shortage" of creche spaces in one Laois town.

Councillor Paschal McEvoy is calling on the local authority to develop a new child-minding facility in Stradbally.

There are currently two creches in the area, but with 100 new houses set to be built in the town, he's concerned it'll add to a pre-existing issue with overcrowding.

The Fianna Fáil rep has identified a potential site for a new premises:
