Residents in Westmeath may experience water supply disruptions this week.
Uisce Éireann has announced that additional water conservation restrictions will come into effect in Athlone and surrounding areas tonight and remain in place until Wednesday morning .
This follows recent water restrictions over the weekend, which resulted in reduced water pressure and supply outages across several areas of the town.
Uisce Eireann is apologising for any inconvenience caused, and is warning that it may take three to four hours for supply to be restored fully after the repairs.
