Westmeath Activist Calls Out Government After Being Detained By Israel

Irish activists returned home over the weekend including Moate's Louise McCormack.

Irish activists say they were ‘tortured’,  bound for hours and denied access to toilets while they were detained by Israel.

The 12 Irish citizens arrived back in Ireland this afternoon.

Dressed in grey, Israeli tracksuits with ‘Free Palestine’ written in pen, the 12 activists arrived to Dublin Airport shortly after 1 o’clock.

It follows their capture by Israel at various stages over the past week, while attempting to bring aid to Gaza.

World leaders including the Taoiseach are condemning the actions of Israel.

Moate's Louise McCormack stood arm in arm with the other activists to call for the Government to do more:

Margaret Connolly – President Catherine Connolly’s sister was amongst the activists who cried when reunited with their loved ones.

They described the experience to the crowds in the arrivals hall:
