A Mullingar activist has made the shortlist for a national GALA Award, celebrating Ireland's LGBTQ+ community.
Christine O'Mahony, founder of Mullingar 4 All, has made the final four of the Person of the Year category.
She also is a founder of Heartlands Pride in Athlone, which is also nominated in the Pride of Ireland section.
Ms O'Mahony says she feels proud of her achievement:
The Sile Na Gig Float from the group's inaugural Pride Parade in June by artist Aoife Dooley is also nominated in the Arts and Entertainment category.
Both nominations are up for a public vote ahead of this year's ceremony on Saturday October 3rd in the Dublin Convention Centre.
