Manchán Magan has won the Irish Book Awards title after passing away in August.
A Westmeath writer has won one of the top prizes at this year's An Post Irish Book Awards.
Manchán Magan's 'Ninety-Nine Words for Rain (and One for Sun)' was released in September, a month before the best-selling author and broadcaster's death.
The book has named as the best Irish Published Book of the Year.
Novel of the Year went to Roisín O'Donnell's 'Nesting' - while Chapters on Dublin's Parnell Street was named Bookshop of the Year.
Former President Michael D. Higgins was also presented with the Bob Hughes Lifetime Achievement Award, with the organisers describing his impact on Irish art and culture as "profound", both "as a public figure and an artist in his own right".
