A business owner in Westmeath believes there isn't a lot the government can do in the short term to protect industries affected by the EU/US tariffs deal.
US President Donald Trump met with EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in Scotland yesterday, with both sides agreeing that goods coming into America will face 15 percent tariffs across the board.
The EU's executive body, the commission, which oversees trade policy, has been rushing to reach a deal before the deadline of August 1.
