Radon is a cancer causing gas.
Just 72 council owned houses in Westmeath have been tested for radon since 2008.
No testing took place in 2020 because of the pandemic.
Cllr Louise Heavin says all houses need to be tested for the cancer-causing gas and that it's very simple.
The Green Party rep is disappointed it wasn't considered essential service during lockdown and wants it to resume as soon as possible:
