Midlands Environmental Activist Says There's An Over Reliance On Wind Energy

There are changes to the policy for the construction of turbines.

A midlands environmental activist believes new guidelines for wind developments are a continuation of the bottom-up approach the government is taking to renewable energy. 

Ministers Eoghan Murphy and Richard Bruton yesterday published a list of five changes to the policy for the construction of turbines. 

They include tighter restrictions around setback distance, noise and an increased need for community dividends in areas where wind farms are approved. 

Denis Leonard, who's also a Westmeath Labour councillor, says there's already an over reliance on wind energy in the Climate Action Plan:
