A Westmeath councillor feels the local authority is not being ambitious enough in its delivery of specially adapted residential units for older people.
Sinn Fein rep for Kinnegad David Jones is demanding a faster delivery of 1 and 2 bedroom ground floor houses for those communities in Clonmellon, Raharney, Rathwire, Delvin and Collinstown.
The local authority's response says smaller projects are being worked on or completed in those areas, but that the greater demand is in larger towns like Mullingar and Athlone.
