Westmeath Garda Rep Says Policing Second Lockdown Will Be Difficult

But they welcome the extra powers.

Policing a second lockdown will be more difficult according to the Garda Representative Association.

It's Westmeath rep Conor Staunton believes rank and file members will have to take the public at their word regarding their movements beyond the 5km radius.  

He says gardaí won't want to use fines to police restrictions, but it's important they have the extra powers:
