A Westmeath hotel and restaurant is seeking an expansion to its number of rooms.
The Wineport Lodge in Athlone is proposing the construction of three floating pod guest rooms.
Other associated works include a small link deck, drainage and water services connections.
A decison from Westmeath County Council is due in late February.
Owner of the Wineport Lodge, Ray Byrne, says if everything goes according to plan, the new pods could be operational by the summer:
