A number of towns in the county have been affected.
Households in Westmeath are being asked to conserve water this morning, after a water main burst earlier today.
Uisce Éireann says the disruption, which had affected Ballynacarrigy, Ballymore, Moate, Moyvore, Mullingar and the surrounding areas, has been resolved, and supply should be returning soon.
But, it is warning it could take three hours for supply to fully return, especially to households at the end of the network or on high ground.
In a statement to Midlands 103, Uisce Éireann provided these tips to conserve water:
"Uisce Éireann continues to appeal to customers to conserve water to help the network refill and restore normal supply to all customers.
While handwashing remains a priority, simple water conservation efforts can have a big impact on reducing demand.
Turning off the tap while brushing your teeth and shaving can save up to 6 litres of water per minute.
Taking a shower instead of a bath or using a watering can rather than a hose when gardening can also make a big difference in water use.
