All three counties showed a decrease quarter-on-quarter in birthrates.
Over 660 babies were born in the midlands between April and June of this year.
Figures from the CSO show that Westmeath had the highest birth rate in the region, at 10.5%.
Offaly had a rate of 9.3%, and Laois was at 8.8%, meaning all three counties have seen a decrease in rates since the first quarter of 2023.
Meanwhile, just over 400 deaths were recorded in the midlands over the same period.
That's a drop from 563 in Q1.
Nationally, over 13,400 babies were welcomed and over 8,000 people passed away.
