Westmeath Man Urges Men Over 45 To Get Prostate Checks

A Westmeath man is urging men in their late 40's and early 50's get checked for prostate cancer.

Athlone's John Tiernan was diagnosed this year after booking a PSA blood test which checks for a high amount of a specific antigen in order to possibly detect the disease.

It follows the release of Movember's Real Face of Men’s Health report showing around 34% of men felt a stigma around seeking help with their physical well being.
