Third level education will be central to plans to turn a Westmeath town into a green sustainable city by 2040.
The Ballymore Group led by Sean Mulryan is aiming to deliver 20,000 new zero carbon homes along with a brand new transport system as part of their Athlone Town masterplan
Investment in TUS Athlone is a key part of the project, with the aim of having 25,000 students enrolled by that time with a new 5,000 bed eco-friendly student village.
