It follows Marek Puska being attacked last month after starting his sentence.
The women convicted of withholding crucial evidence in the Ashling Murphy murder investigation may be kept under 23-hour lockdown in prison for the entirety of their sentences.
Jozef Puska's wife, 36 year old Lucia Istokova, and the wives of his two brothers, 40 year old Viera Gaziova and Jozefina Grundzova who's 35, are being segregated in the Dochas Women’s Prison.
The Irish Independent is reporting that both the prison's governor and the women themselves believe they would be in danger in the general population.
It comes after Ms Gaziova's husband Marek Puska was attacked within a few days of being jailed last month.
