The collision occurred shortly after 8.15 last night.
A woman in her 20s has been killed in a crash in Westmeath.
The single vehicle collision occurred on the L1122 in Ballinagore shortly after 8.15 yesterday evening.
The woman, who was the sole occupant of the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her body has been removed to Mullingar Regional Hospital where a post-mortem will take place at a later date.
The road was closed overnight to allow for a forensic examination but has since reopened.
Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
They are particularly appealing to any road users who were travelling on this road at the time with camera footage to make this available to them.
