Two others involved in the incident have been brought to Mullingar Hospital.
A woman in her 80s has died after a crash in Meath.
It happened on the R156 at Scarriff Bridge in Batterstown, at around 12 noon and involed a car and a minibus.
The driver of the car, a woman aged in her 80’s, was later pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, a man in his 50's and a passenger of the minibus were brought to Midland Regional Hospital, Mullingar, for treatment for injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and who were travelling in the area between 11.15am and 12.15pm today, Friday 5th January 2024, are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
