Irish Online Shoppers Facing Higher Customs Charges From July

Offaly TD and Oireachtas Enterprise Committee member John Clenndennen says it will help local shops.

Irish online shoppers are facing a new penalty on purchases arriving from outside the EU from July 1st under new EU-wide rules. 

Revenue confirmed a €3 customs duty will apply to each individual item in parcels valued at €150 or less, with VAT added on top. 

Consumers ordering multiple products from countries such as the UK or Asia could see costs rise significantly before delivery.
