The club announced two further signings ahead of the game.
Athlone Town opened their 2021 pre season with a 2-0 defeat to Premier Division champions Shamrock Rovers.
Ahead of the game, the midlanders announced the signings of attacking midfielder Jamie Hollywood and defender Tristan Noack-Hofmann.
The 23 year-old Hollywood arrives from Crumlin United but has previous League Of Ireland experience with Drogheda and Longford.
Noack-Hoffman is a 22 year-old left back of German descent who previously lined out for Mullingar Athletic in 2015.
He began his career with FK Piramasens in Germany and has played in the top flight here with Longford in 2016 and spent the last two seasons with Bray Wanderers.

Both went straight into the starting lineup.
The game was played behind closed doors in Tallaght with the hosts also fielding a team against Bray Wanderers at another venue, a game which finished 3-3.
So a split team for Stephen Bradley's side who inflicted a first defeat on Adrian Carberry's new side with goals in each half from Max Murphy and new signing from Bohemians Danny Mandriou.
It would have been a good marker for Adrian Carberry's side for where they are at the moment and what they need to develop in bedding in a large number of new signings.
Next up for Athlone is a home tie with Sligo Rovers on Tuesday.
