The Midlanders held on to a 2-1 lead right up to the 89th minute.
Athlone Town are still on the hunt for their first win of the SSE Airtricity First Division season, following some last minute drama last night.
The Midlanders held onto a 2-1 lead almost right up to full-time at Lissywoolen.
However, a last gasp attempt from Cobh Ramblers bagged them two goals in the 89th and 90th minutes respectively.

Both sides were also down to 10 men after red cards in either half.
The visitors got off to a good start, with the first goal coming in the 14th minute.
It was just before the break when Athlone responded, 21 year old new signing Thomas Oluwa hitting net.
In the meantime, Cobh had been reduced to 10 men halfway through the first half. Midfielder Luke Desmond was shown red.
At one goal apiece, it was all to play for heading into the second half.
However, the home side lost the personnel advantage when Glen McAuley was also sent off.
The addition of Carlton Ubaezuonu in the place of Quincy Nkansah after the break proved fruitful though. He gave the home side a 2-1 lead in the 82nd.
Athlone's sights were firmly set on victory heading towards the final whistle, with Martin Russell also about to clinch his first win in charge.
But that was quickly shattered in a flurry of late drama.
A resurgence from Cobh saw them bag not one but two goals in quick succession in the 89th and 90th minutes.
It leaves Athlone Town bottom of the table, yet to put any points on the board.
They do have a re-fixed meeting with Treaty United coming up next month. The trip to Limerick was called off on February 25th due to unplayable pitch conditions.
Next up, though, is the visit of second-placed Galway United to Lissywoolen this Friday at 7.45pm.
