After a close first half, Belmont secured a deserved league final victory.
Belmont are this week toasting their very first Division One Hurling League title after beating Birr in Banagher on Saturday.
After a relatively closely fought first half Belmont led their opponents by the smallest possible margin, 0-9 to 1-5.
However an excellent Oisin Kelly goal, and Birr's failure to score more than one point in the second period, made the outcome of the league final inevitable.
The final score in Banagher was 1-19 to 1-9.
Both clubs will return to action for the senior championship next week.
