After a testing campaign, Westmeath succumbed to a dangerous Limerick outfit in Adare.
It was a mixed weekend for the midland counties in the National Camogie League this weekend.
Starting in Division 1B where Westmeath's heavy defeat to Limerick in Adare means the Lake County go straight back down to Division 2A after losing all five matches.
The final score was 4-15 to 1-5.
There was better news for Offaly and Laois however, as both secured important wins to reach their respective finals with a game to spare.
In Division 2A, The Faithful County eased to a 3-10 to 1-5 over Carlow and in Division 3A, Laois got the better of Roscommon in Mountmellick on a scoreline of 2-10 to to seven points.
