He sustained an injury in the build-up to Tullamore's semi-final win against Ferbane.
The news which all GAA fans across Offaly expected has been confirmed today as Tullamore manager Niall Stack admitted Cormac Egan will play no part in the show-piece event of the club football season in the faithful county.
Egan is facing a spell on the sidelines after picking up a knock in the build-up to their semi-final success against Ferbane.
Stack said in the aftermath of that performance that it was unlikely he would feature in the final and that is now official.
Speaking to Midlands103 ahead of the final this weekend, he added:
'I haven't really an update for you there, he won't be available for the final that's for sure.
He needs to go away now and get the proper assessment done on himself. Cormac is one for the future not only for our club, but for the county as well and it's just very important he gets looked after now.
His workload as we know has been very heavy since the All-Ireland U-20 campaign and Leinster minor campaign with Offaly.
I suppose inevitably he was always going to pick up a knock looking at how many games he had to play and the pace he plays at.
I'm sure he will get looked after, we'll look after him as a club and I think even the county will chip in on that...we will make sure to look after him but he won't be available for this weekend.
Aside from the injury to Offaly's U-20 talisman, Stack reports that they are sweating on the fitness of a couple of other players.
In that regard he is confident that most of those will be available for selection for the final even if not totally 100% fit.
Throw-in is at 3pm this Sunday in O'Connor Park with live commentary on Midlands103.
