The Waterford manager believes the Faithful County were too tentative in the first half on Sunday.

Davy Fitzgerald says Offaly will have to learn to take the game to elite  hurling counties if they're to thrive in Division One.

The Waterford manager watched his side run out 12 point winners in Glenisk O'Connor Park on Sunday.

Johnny Kelly's side were competitive throughout the contest but the concession of a pair of needless goals in the first half, and a weak final quarter ultimately cost them.
