LOI Review: Free Scoring Town Tank Harps

Frantz Pierrot's brace moved him to 9 league goals for the season.

It's now ten goals in three games for Athlone Town who return from Ballybofey with three points after their 4-1 win over Finn Harps.

Frantz Pierrot opened the scoring in the first period of their First Division clash, and doubled his tally before half time. 

Town sealed the game thanks to goals from both Haji Abdikadir, and Valeriy Dolya, with an injury time compensation strike for Harps coming from Filip Fjeldheim Da Silva.

Speaking to Chris Ashmore, Athlone manager Gordon Brett says he's happy with the win but his side were facing a depleted team last night:

Elsewhere, Galway United suffered their first defeat of the season in the First Division.

They lost 1-0 to Longford Town at Bishopsgate. 

Second-placed Waterford also lost, after a 1-0 defeat at home to Wexford. 

Cobh Ramblers beat Kerry 4-1.

At the Carlisle Grounds it finished Bray 0 Treaty United 3.
