The Offaly golfer was Ireland's flag bearer in Paris.
"I gave it my best and that's all I can ask for"
Shane Lowry is reflecting on his Olympic experience after finishing in a tie for 26th in the golf competition in France.
The Clara man made a move into possible contention with a five under par round of 66 on Saturday.
However a double bogey opener on his final round left him playing for places instead of medals on Sunday.
Lowry says he wishes he could have given The Games "a better run" but that he tried his best.
The 2019 Open Championship winner also says he hopes he can represent Ireland again at Los Angeles 2028.
