The Maroon suffered another narrow defeat in the All Ireland Football Championship.
Despite the disappointment of another All Ireland series loss, Westmeath's experience at the highest level will stand to them, according to the county's manager, Dessie Dolan.
It comes as the Lake County's championship campaign was ended at the hands of Derry on Saturday evening.
The loss marked the third consecutive defeat in this year's competition, and a fifth loss in six All Ireland outings over two years.
Despite the setbacks, Dolan is convinced Westmeath are showing enough to justify their place in the Sam Maguire series:
