Irish Agriculture Officials Respond To Panorama Documentary Allegations

Allegations were made about the number of horses sent to abattoirs since 2019.

Irish officials say they 'knew nothing' about alleged issues in the horse racing industry.

A BBC Panorama found 4,000 former racehorses have been slaughtered at British and Irish abattoirs since 2019.

And it said a majority were trained in Ireland.

Kevin Smith, the assistant secretary general at the department of agriculture, says he knew nothing of the allegations.
