Four year reign comes to an unsuccessful end
John Maughan has stepped down as manager of the Offaly senior footballers after 4 years in charge.
The Mayo native guided the Faithful county to promotion from Division 3 of the Allianz National Football League last year, but they were relegated from Division 2 earlier this year and then knocked out of the Leinster Championship in the first round by Wexford.
Maughan managed bring his team to the Tailteann Cup Semi Final but departed tamely at the hands of their midlands rivals, Westmeath.
Midlands 103 commentator for Offaly GAA, Brian Gavin, gives his reaction to today's news:
Offaly GAA Chairman Michael Duignan is thanking Maughan for this contribution over the last four years and his wishing him success in the future.
