A couple of former Laois players have agreed to take on coaching positions.
Billy Sheehan is the preferred candidate to succeed Mike Quirke as Laois senior football manager.
The Kerry-native has the backing of their selection committee and will be put forward for ratification next Monday.
Sheehan's former Laois teammates Brian 'Beano' McDonald and Chris Conway will be his selectors.
Gerry McGill will make up the final part of the coaching ticket. McGill previously filled the same position for a season until the end of 2015.
It appears as if Seamas 'Cheddar' Plunkett is set to shake up the team around him as it has been confirmed he is staying on for another season at least.
In their press release, Laois county board have left his selectors positions blank ahead of the full county board meeting next Monday.
The other headline of note from the release is that Waterford boss Derek McGrath is remaining with the minor hurling management team amid continuing speculation linking him with a return to senior coaching.
