They've plumped for a member of the Laois Ladies backroom team.
Clonaslee's Conor Gorman will take the reigns of the Laois minor footballers for the upcoming season.
Gorman takes over from Mark Bates, who stepped aside after two years at the helm.
It's far from his first involvement with his county, with a playing career encompassing all grades in the O'Moore county including an All-Ireland crown at minor level.
On the coaching side, he's tasted success with his home club at Intermediate level and has since been operating with Donie Brennan on the ladies football coaching ticket in Laois.
They've managed to bag a league title and reach an All-Ireland semi-final this season.
It's understood Gorman was one of a handful of serious candidates evaluated in the last month by the selection committee and is the final manager to be put in place by Laois GAA.
